Hotel News in Austria

Arcotel Tabakfabrik in Linz

The Arcotel Group will open a new four-star hotel in the Quadrill Tower in Linz this April. The 109 m high tower is located on the site of the former tobacco factory. The hotel spans the first nine floors and features 189 rooms and suites. Its design picks up on the industrial heritage of the site and plays with contrasts – raw yet refined, minimalist yet warm. A sky restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace can be found on the 27th floor. Other amenities include a co-working space, fitness room with terrace, over 700 parking spaces and six event rooms.

nōa Schladming

May 2026 will see the launch of nōa Schladming with its 26 suites. A true highlight of the centrally located hotel is its rooftop pool with views of the surrounding mountains. The wellness area also includes two saunas and a steam bath. Another place for guests to warm up is the fitness room, or they can cool down in the cryo chamber. The hotel’s fine-dining restaurant has been open since December 2025, formerly known as “Die Tischlerei”. The host family chose the hotel’s name because it conveys their message in several languages. “Noa” stands for tranquillity and movement in Japanese, for peace and security in Hebrew and for freedom in Hawaiian.

Hotel Schani City in Vienna

With Hotel Schani City, the privately run company is opening its sixth hotel in Vienna. The Schani Hotels are smart boutique hotels with a special focus on sustainability. “Schani” is an old Viennese word which can be translated as “service personnel”. The hotel is located in Leopoldstadt opposite Schwedenplatz and will open in the second quarter of 2026. It has 127 rooms including 27 kosher-friendly rooms, inspired by its location in Leopoldstadt, which was and is the centre of Jewish life in Vienna. After a busy day exploring the city, guests can relax in the green courtyard or hotel restaurant.

Hampton by Hilton Salzburg

A Hampton by Hilton hotel with 99 rooms, a restaurant and underground parking is being built near the exhibition grounds in the city of Salzburg. Its opening is scheduled for autumn 2026. The new building ticks all the boxes when it comes to energy efficiency. Photovoltaic systems, a groundwater heat pump and heat recovery in the ventilation systems ensure a resource-efficient energy supply. Green roofs improve the microclimate and serve as natural insulation. Solid wood slats on the facade provide natural shading and eight public electric vehicle charging stations support sustainable mobility.

Hotel GUT Trattlerhof in Carinthia

After several months of renovation, Hotel GUT Trattlerhof reopened in December 2025. The host family has redesigned 15 of the 60 rooms in the approximately 400 year old building. They are around 34 m² in size and furnished in a contemporary alpine style with natural materials from the region. The entrance and reception area has also been updated. As part of the work, the building technology has been upgraded and the photovoltaic system expanded for greater energy efficiency.

Hotel Seebichl near Kitzbühel

Painter and architect Alfons Walde once inhabited the charming house by Lake Schwarzsee near Kitzbühel. It later became the editing studio of filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl and eventually Kitzbühel’s first hotel with baths in all rooms. Since January 2026, the black building which contains 26 rooms has been featuring some new additions. Guests can now swim year-round in the heated outdoor pool and enjoy drinks and snacks on the extended terrace. The new meeting and yoga loft is available for groups and workshops and the sun deck will provide an extra space to relax from summer 2026. A further change is that Hotel & Restaurant Seebichl is now adults-only.

Carpe Solem Kaprun

The new 4-star superior boutique resort Carpe Solem opened in the centre of Kaprun in December 2025. It has 60 rooms and suites as well as 48 holiday apartments. Plenty of wood, traditional design and high-quality interior features characterise the property. The ALPS KITCHEN restaurant impresses with its stylish ambiance, spacious dining area, comfortable bar and sunny terrace. Two separate wellness areas cater for families as well as those looking to retreat to the adults-only spa.
